Refrigerated Pipelines

ITP Refrigerated PIP allows for the transfer of all liquid gas products needing to maintain a temperature down to -60°C.
Our refrigerated pipeline systems feature a double envelope, allowing for subsea or buried implementation. This increases protection from external damage and ensures containment of the internal pipe and product.

Our Refrigerated Piping Systems

Eliminate the need for a trestle / jetty structure
Can be buried
Have a low environmental and local community impact
Provide improved seismic response
Enable terminal locations
Offer reduced CAPEX

Refrigerated Pipeline Installation

Our subsea ammonia or LPG pipe in pipe does not require a jetty or trestle structure installation. Subsea or buried, it offers optimal protection from external damage. By doing away with the jetty, our refrigerated pipeline systems have a low impact on marine traffic and facilitate terminal location. In fact, they enable our clients to avoid dredging, stay out of tsunami zones and can be installed in congested port areas and even near the public and in touristic locations where small vessels need to travel.

Technologies

Izoflex LT®

Izoflex insulation provides the lowest conductivity in the pipeline market, so the refrigerated PiP is the most compact resulting in narrower pipeline corridors. The non-ageing nature of Izoflex also means zero maintenance.

PERFORMANCE OF OUR REFRIGERATED PIPELINES

Our refrigerated pipeline solutions are applicable to the transfer of all liquid products that need to maintain a temperature down to -60 °C, including the LPG mix, Propane (-45°C) and Butane (-18°C), and Ammonia (-33°C).

Since our refrigerated PIP is equipped with an integrated pipeline monitoring system that relies on the closed annulus volume, we are able to detect leaks with a magnitude that is much more sensitive than standard mass balance systems.

Refrigerated Pipelines Projects

ITP Interpipe has operating refrigerated pipeline systems since 2004. We provide our clients with pipeline studies, from concept selection, FEED to detailed design and offer EPC implementation for LPG or Ammonia terminal pipelines. Our projects include:
