ITP - EHTF pipe system
Heated pipeline systems can be used for flow assurance to provide the required product viscosity, prevent wax deposition or mitigate for hydrates.
Active heating can also be applied for transportation of liquid sulphur, asphalt or bitumen.
ITP has developed the Electrically Heat Traced Flowline (EHTF™), which combines the excellent passive insulation of Izoflex™ with heating wires. the The EHTF™ is highly efficient, With U-values, down to 0.3 W/m2/K, requiring <10 W/m for typical hydrate mitigation.
The extremely low U-values provided by PIP allows for the use of heat tracing over very long distances at relatively low voltages, enabling ultra- long tiebacks
Production is increased by the ability to maintain a flowline warm through heating. Operational flexibility is enabled in brownfield system or when tied back to shared hosts.
The EHTF™ reduces topside facilities, without the need for large quantities of chemical injection for flow assurance and shutdowns.
The EHTF™ eliminates the need for looped architectures, without the need for round-trip pigging or flowline inerting for shutdowns.
Deep-water reserves can be produced with single tieback flowlines with hydrate mitigation through active heating.

Subsea Reeled EHTF
For subsea reeled applications, the EHTF is implemented in partnership with Subsea 7. The full EHTF solution is provided through Subsea 7’s strategically located spool bases and state-of-the-art reel lay vessels.
