Our Challenge
The Gujarat project involved developing the world’s first fully buried cryogenic pipeline system for transporting Ethane and LNG from an existing jetty to a new storage tank. Spanning a congested corridor with multiple bends and road crossings, the design had to support a temperature of -161°C, limit boil-off gas, and accommodate a fully constrained buried application without expansion loops. Fast-track execution and supply chain alignment were critical for project success.
Our Solution
ITP Pipeline delivered a groundbreaking solution for the Gujarat project, ensuring safe and efficient cryogenic transportation:
- Innovative Design: A PIP system with a 24” 36%Ni inner pipe provided a fully constrained buried solution, achieving an ultra-low U-value of 0.1 W/m²·K for exceptional thermal efficiency.
- High-Quality Procurement: First-class suppliers were engaged for pipes, hot induction bends, bulkhead forged pieces, thermal insulation, and a leak detection system.
- Fast-Track Execution: Engineering and pre-fabrication were completed in just 10 months, leveraging ITP’s Normandy yard for PIP pre-fabrication. Onsite supervision ensured compliance with rigorous design requirements.
