News : Camisea pipeline resists violent earthquake, Sept 07

Peru experienced a severe earthquake with magnitude 8.0. The epicenter located offshore, was close to the city of Pisco, where the LPG plant and ITP subsea cryogenic pipe-in-pipes have been installed (ref attachments). The earthquake caused a small tsunami. Most of the city of Pisco is devastated.

However, PLUSPETROL (the Operator of the LPG plant and its marine terminal, designed for seismic/tsunami), has restarted plant operation. The integrity of the ITP subsea pipes were verified by the integrated monitoring system using the reduced pressure in the annulus. Currently the plant is providing energy to the neighbouring community that has been affected by this natural disaster.

ITP is proud to have contributed to a safe industrial facility.

Violent earthquake in Peru destroyed Pisco but ITP pipeline stayed operational
